Thai Chilli Chicken

Here is my recipe for Thai Chilli Chicken. Made this for dinner today. It's not very hot, but it has an interesting flavour - sweet, spicy and sour.

This recipe serves 5-6 people.

You will need:-

Fried Chicken
chicken fillet (i use half a packet, about 500gm)
plain flour
a pinch of salt
a pinch of tumeric powder (for colour)

1. Cut the chicken fillet into strips.
2. Pour in flour in a bowl and mix in salt and tumeric powder. Mix well. Please make sure the salt is blended well with the flour.
3. Coat the chicken into the flour mixture and fry them until cooked.
3. Place the chicken strips in a serving plate and set aside.

The Sauce
1/2 large onion, sliced
3 clove garlic, crushed
3 bird's-eye chilli, sliced
juice of 1 lime
1/2 green apple, diced into small cubes (alt: pineapple)
1/2 cup of Thai Chilli sauce
1/4-1/2 cup of water
sugar to taste
a few dash of thai fish sauce

1. Sauté the onion, garlic and bird's eye chilli in oil until fragrant.
2. Mix in the Thai Chilli sauce, water and diced apples. Mix well. Let it simmer.
3. Add in juice of lime, sugar and thai fish sauce to taste.
3. Let it boil for awhile. Stir until the sauce is mixed well.
4. Pour the sauce over the chicken and it is now ready to be served.
5. Serve immediately with rice.
