Adieha's Chicken Pie

This is my family's favourite. We call it Chicken Pie (or Chicken Stew) but the 'crusty pie' is served separately (on the side), not like the normal chicken pie. :P

The Gravy
5 cloves of small red onion - peeled and finely sliced
3 cloves of garlic - peeled and finely chopped
½" of ginger - finely sliced
1 tbsp kurma curry powder - mix with water
½ piece chicken - cut into small pieces
1 cup of mix vege - boiled until cooked
2 pieces of potato - peeled, cubed, boiled until cooked
½ tin of button mushroom - cut into 4 or 6
1 tin of mushroom soup / 1 packet of powdered mushroom soup + equal amounts of water
2 cubes of mini chicken cube
salt and pepper to taste

1. Saute the onions, garlic, ginger.
2. Add in the kurma curry powder. Stir until "pecah minyak".
3. Add in the chicken. Mix well. Cover it and cooked under low heat until chicken is cooked.
4. Add in mushroom soup and chicken stock. Mix in well.
5. Add in mix vege, potato and button mushroom.
6. Season with salt and pepper.
7. Wait until it boils and simmer for 5 minutes.

The Pie
2 packets of Kawan Puff Pastry Square (1 packet = 10 pieces of puff pastry)
or..
2 packets of Kawan Puff Pastry Block (1 packet can make up to 12 squares)

1. Thaw the pastry squares
2. Heat the oven 180°C
3. Butter or oil the baking pan
4. Arrange the pastry squares on the baking pan
5. Bake until golden yellow

eaten with pie...

eaten with bread...

Serve the gravy in a bowl and eat it with the puff pastry (pie). You can replace the pastry pie with white bread. :D

The way I eat it; shred the pastry/bread into small pieces, pour the gravy on top, let it soak all the yummy goodness and then NGUPP. Yummy!!

The finish product!
